HORSES
Horses have long been a passion of mine. As a child, I drew them endlessly, though their legs weren't always bent correctly. I've since figured out the anatomy and physiology. But the sight of a horse, no matter how fast it moves, still has the same mesmerizing effect on me.
DOGS
IN HUNTING
A series of works was made based on the impressions of a trip to a Russian costume hunt. This is an old pastime and a way of communication between nobles in the 19th century. Now it is more like entertainment and an opportunity for beautiful photo shoots. Trips with hunting dogs, beautiful costumes of Amazons and Gypsies, magnificent thoroughbred horses - mentally transfer me to that era.
CIRCUS
Several years ago, while working on a mural for the Great St. Petersburg Circus, I visited every nook and cranny. Here's a trainer and his dogs. He's set up a table in the passageway between the cages, about to groom them. They sit obediently in their pen, waiting for "daddy" to call the dog's name. "Spice!" A white poodle jumps up on the table, and "daddy" begins combing its curls. The other "kids" patiently wait their turn...
The arena is in full swing: mats, ropes with harnesses, someone descending from under the dome, someone doing somersaults—everyone practicing their routine. It feels like a long, painstaking effort. And in the evening, there's a colorful performance. For me, both on both sides of the stage, it's incredible!
